Our air conditioning quit yesterday morning. The unit shorted out and tripped its switch in the fusebox. Luckily, we were planning to be out of town all day (see entry below) and that was convenient because the serviceman could not come until this morning. I prayed all day that it would be something simple, something inexpensive, because we knew buying this house that the unit was older and would probably need to be replaced in the next five years or so. God really helped us out, getting us through the last week of high temperatures and allowing this breakdown when the highs are in the 80s instead of the 100s. The house stayed comfortably cool overnight. This morning the repairman came and looked at the unit. He simply replaced the fan motor, then cleaned it and checked it. It was an inexpensive repair and I am grateful. He says that with proper cleaning and care, the unit should last us for several more years. Thanks, God, for the favor!*Photo credits to Lost in Transition via flickr.com
